Potential Issues When Submitting eCampus Assessments

There have recently been a limited number of reports of assessment attempt answers not saving in eCampus. Students may receive "Access Denied" messages at the time of submission.

To mitigate this issue, Instructional Technology Services (ITS) recommends that students not open any additional eCampus tabs or windows in the same browser after starting an assessment (quiz, test, or exam).

Instructors can assist by removing Force Completion, which will allow students who experience these issues to re-enter the assessment attempt. Note that this issue does not affect assessments associated with either Examity or Respondus LockDown Browser proctoring tools.

Blackboard, the vendor for eCampus, is aware of this system issue. It occurs when a new session is generated in the same browser that already has an active session in progress. ITS is currently testing a potential fix from Blackboard that would be implemented for the spring semester.

If you require technical assistance, ITS is able to verify when these assessment issues occur.
